....Winter Blues....

DON'T FIGHT THE BLUES...

Once the Christmas red, green, silver and gold is stored into storage bins, our homes are sometimes left with an empty cold space untitled with gifts of the celebration.

This is the perfect time to match that flickering fire with shades of cool, icy, blue.  Invite the hint of spring by blending blue with other colors such as grey, green, yellow and splashes of soft red tones, passing through the entire color spectrum.

Keep in mind that blue is black's fraternal twin and in many cases they may appear to be it's identical sibling. But because of the base color component, your options open as the value lightens or darkens, become brighter or dimmer.

Don't be afraid to use Navy blue on walls, counter tops or floors. Blue being a primary color can find its way around the color spectrum and blend, blend, blend. Do yourself a favor and try "Naval" by Sherman Williams with any color that your sweet heart or sweet-heart desires. There will be no conflict here when you want to introduce it to your beautiful wood  (of any type) trim and furnishing or using elements such as metal and stone to compliment the color shades.

Let the colors of nature inspire you! Instead of climbing under your blankets and drowning in depression because you have no bright sunshine, embrace those cool colors to begin the decorating process.
Watch the blending of how blue fills the
sky and surrounds itself with pale shades. Take those magnificent colors and bring them into your home. You'll be surprised how they light up even the darkest days.

Let the dazzle being! Take charge of your space with your beautiful blues.
