I've decided that one thing is... Changing out your BASEBOARDS to lovely 4 1/2" - 5 1/2" high .
This small but significant change will immediately increase the style factor in any room.

There are so many tricks you can use (or have your designer and contractor use) to create a taller, more architectural look.
Or if your house is more on the modern or contemporary side, even flat molding in wider slat will "finish" off the look of the room adding instant aesthetic appeal.
